The 1946 CADILLAC METEOR HEARSE FACTS.....
Was in Mortuary service in the Gilroy California area till the early 1960,s... Was bought by two brothers that used to cruise it all over Gilroy till the Center support bearing fell out... It was pushed into the family barn in 1964 and forgotten about....
This Hearse has the CADILLAC FLAT HEAD 331 Cubic Inch V-8 with 3 speed transmission, small "DOG DISH" hub caps indicating, just after the war... Has a Hand size hole in passenger floor board, drivers side it perfect. rear drivers side fender well appears to have scraped against a wall of some sorts so its kind "FLAT" instead of curved. The rest of the car is solid, no ROT OUTS or crusty body panels... Just a lot of surface rust from sitting. Original color appears to be a dark plum color..Very few were built in all.
