1971 Custom Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coffin Car
1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coffin Car.
***Warning*** do not drive this car unless you want a lot of attention
It literally stops traffic every time I drive it. Getting gas takes a
Half hour, because of people taking pictures.
This is a custom built one of a kind VW based street rod she is registered
As a 1971 Karmann Ghia, but the entire car has be restored to be more safe
As well as faster the chassis was pro built by a local Oklahoma city rod shop. The
Body is furniture grade 100 percent oak with an actual coffins veneer for that
Great classic look the entire front end was removed, rebuilt, and chromed here
In Oklahoma city.
The engine was hand built by Chico performance, and will spin the
Huge rear tires. The engine was dyno tuned at just shy of 100 horsepower, and
With a car this light she is one wild ride the interior is completely custom, and
Locally done here in Oklahoma city as well. The wiring is all original, and works 100 percent
Its just not super pretty to look at. If one was so inclined to install a factory harness
I have a new street rod harness for the car but haven't had time to install it but as I
Said before the car runs great now, and is street legal the new harness is just to
Pretty up things underneath.
To keep you legal the car uses a gps unit mounted in the center of the steering wheel
For a speedometer. She now has 4 wheel disk brakes installed and will pull your eyes out of
Socket while slowing you down. The mufflers are reversed to give her that street rod
Look, and great sound. Mileage on the car is not known as there is no odometer, but
Is less than 500 miles without a doubt.
Four cylinder Chico performance built engine
Rear wheel drive
Manual transmission
